Can-o-Worms
Last year FullCycle established a Worm Farm at the Mount Nelson Hotel, Cape Town (the first in South Africa), so instead of their kitchen waste going to landfill, earthworms now turn it into vermicast (a soil conditioner) that is used by their horticulturist in their gardens.
We see Worm Farms as a simple solution to our growing waste crisis. FullCycle specialises in domestic worm farms and commercial units.
Earthworms can eat half their own weight each day. They double their numbers every 4-6 months, and after 2-3 years with FullCycle's Can-O-Worms you will have 4-5kg of earthworms in the worm farm capable of eating up to 2-3kg of organic waste per day.
Can-O-Worms is an odourless, user-friendly composting system that allows anyone to participate in recycling. The compact, stylish design of Can-O-Worms makes it versatile and attractive enough to use anywhere - even inside!
It turns your organic household waste into rich compost and liquid fertiliser. The innovative-layered design of Can-O-Worms stacking tray system allows for easy removal of the finished worm castings and worm tea (liquid fertiliser) - without having to handle the worms or decomposing organic waste. It is completely safe around children and is a great educational tool for every home.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the EWT.

'Adopt' a Blue or Wattled Crane Toy today!
While all cranes are majestic, the Blue Crane stands out in this regard. It is our national bird and appears on the 5c coin, yet it is also threatened. Currently only 21 000 – 25 000 Blue Cranes are left in South Africa, whilst a century ago 100 000 used to populate the region. The Blue Crane is near-endemic which means that we are the world’s custodians of this creature. We cannot allow its distinctive bugle calls to vanish from our remaining grasslands. You can now 'adopt' a Blue Crane cuddly toy to help support the work that the EWT does in conserving the eco-system they live in, to ensure they have a future.
The Wattled Crane is by far the most endangered crane species in South Africa. Wattled Cranes are exceptionally susceptible to disturbance while nesting in wetlands, and will easily desert a nest if disturbed. To make things worse, although the birds sometimes lay two eggs, only one chick is usually hatched and reared. With only 240 Wattled Cranes left in South Africa, they need our help! You can now 'adopt' a Wattled Crane cuddly toy to help support the work that the EWT does in conserving the eco-system they live in to ensure they have a future.
